Holiday Madness, Fitness Goals, and New Challenges

Today I want to talk about some exciting STUUUUFF we have going on with Newave Fitness heading into the New Year along with new personal challenges and best practices to manage fitness goals during the Holiday Season!

Lets get to it!

Alright, alright, alright. I recently shut down the Burn Program on the main page of Newave Fitness to make way for some new stuff! First and foremost I want to say thank you to everyone who got the program and nutrition guide!

We had an incredible response to the free program! A lot of “Oh god, I am soooo sore today Matt!” and even more “I hate you so much” comments. I absolutely love it and appreciate each and every one of you for giving the program a whirl. I hope I was able to give you great value by applying new techniques and exercises you normally don’t do or may have forgotten about!

Either way, thank you guys, but as of last night… the program is GONE! Don’t be disheartened or upset… we have bigger things in store for you guys in a little over 30 days! I have been working on creating a new system for about five months now which will be the biggest launch for NEWAVE FITNESS EVER!

In order to finish the program and ensure it provides the most value to you guys, I reached out to my social media following asking for help on a few questions. Again, another big thank you for every one who submitted responses and inputs. It was really fun reading through what you guys had to say. Some insightful and some hilarious.

If you haven’t had the chance to input your response, I would be extremely grateful if could click this LINK! In exchange for your answers, I will be giving you a free copy of the program once it is finished here very soon!

In preparation for everything new and the upcoming launch… the home page has been shut down so for all intents and purposes, The Vault and Camp Newave will be the only parts open at this time until we are ready to go. Thank you guys so much for being a part of this!

Holiday Accountability!

Next thing up, lets talk about the Holidays! You finally tell its truly Christmas season… by the amount of crazy drivers that are on the road in the city trying to get to all the best deals in town. Besides that, its also a time where most folks fall off their fitness routines FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH if not longer. The gym is dead… which can be nice, but more importantly, unhealthy eating gets out of control.

I love being around friends and family this time of year. The holiday tunes are on and everyone seems to be chipper and elated. We get cozy watching old classics and one bad dinner can easily lead to a snow ball effect. Most folks, this snow ball starts before Thanksgiving and doesn’t stop until a week or town into the New Year. Resolutions push your ass back in the gym in order to try to lose that weight you gained over the past 6-8 weeks just to get you back to square one.

Don’t be this person. Working out over the holidays doesn’t have to be overly complicated. In fact, make it simple. Cut your workouts times down by doing METCON or other circuit training methods while focusing on primary movements such as squats, deadlifts, dips, etc.

Keep your health the top priority. This is as easy to do as it is easy not to do and trust me, you will feel much better just by taking the appropriate measures to do some physical activity everyday.

Not with that said, if you eat too many calories you will gain weight. This is painfully obvious but bares reminding. You cannot out exercise a bad diet. Over the holidays, enjoy your favorites but keep an eye of portions. Enjoy a slice of that cake or pie, but don’t take the leftovers home! Again, easy to do and easy not to do.

All this being said, I am challenging myself with accountability this holiday season. I have set goals and things I am striving to accomplish. The only way to make that happen is to stay accountable so I want to challenge you to do the same!

NEW CHALLENGES

Speaking of challenges… on Thanksgiving I signed up for my first Half-Marathon. Many of you may know… I am not necessarily the “running type”. You can easily derive that from my physical stature and history in lifting weights. I like lifting heavy things. If I run, its either to get some water or to the restroom.

Haha but seriously, sprinting was my forte… to hell with distance. At least that is what I told myself. Its funny the number things we tell ourselves we can or cannot do.

A friend of mine was discussing the race at Thanksgiving and the first thought that popped in my mind was… “yeah… no you’re crazy man.” I knew right then and there, I had to sign up. So yeah here we go.

The running for the half marathon looks like this. Keep in mind… this is on top of my current program as I try to get down to sub 10% body fat. Oh what fun!

I forgot to mention, the absolute best part about this whole Half Marathon thing is the venue! The race will be held in Sedona, AZ! Only one of the most beautiful places in the whole United States… so yeah, thats a solid perk. The way I look at it is… even if the run is killing me slowly… at least I will be surrounded by incredible scenery as I black out.

Haha but seriously, sign up! We are going to have a big group so it would be awesome to see you there! If you are still on the fence, just look at this!

So yeah guys lets do this thing! What a great way to bring in the New Year. My main point I want to get across here is… do something that you’re not comfortable with and see what you can truly do. This is the path to truth personal growth and self actualization… so challenge yourself to do new things starting now and carry that into the New Year. See how far you can go in 2019!

I know if you consistently put this in to practice, next year this time, you probably will not recognize the person you are today. You don’t just wake up one day completely different. It happens over time with consistent positive action towards living your life on your terms!

I will check back in next week to discuss the upcoming launch in more detail as well as the other media stuff we have going on! I want to see you achieve all of you goals next year and even more moving forward! If you believe it, you can achieve it! Let’s do it together guys. I love you all. Happy Holiday season!

Remember… BE THE BETTER YOU!

I’m out!

P.S. Quick shout out to everyone who made it out to Bootcamp this past week! Our class the day before Thanksgiving was LIT and another awesome showing on Saturday morning post Thanksgiving. So kudos to you guys! Keep it up!
